no search tied this 13 year old case to a tea party from what i found. However, I did find this: "The outcome: not one indictment of a tobacco company or executive. Still, Attorney General Janet Reno contrived multibillion- dollar civil RICO charges against the industry–-the same charges for which grand juries could not find probable cause. It’s politics and money, not law, that’s driving this litigation." http://www.cato.org/publications/commentary/federal-tobacco-policy-return-reason Once again, how does this have anything to deal with the IRS deciding to create a criteria to harrass a certain group of people based on their political stance?

You did not look very hard.
Here's the TOBACCO FILE CABINET document in the trial that shows that Philip Morris paid KOCH-CSE $891,000 in one year, plus $175,000 in two other years:

Then they took that money and test marketed the Tea Party in North Carolina State Building in 2001 when G WRECKER Bush was new and no banks had failed and nobody ever heard of Obama yet:

Then they set up the USTEAPARTY.com on the CSE website...
